Pro City Kenner 7.23 Pt. 1

July 27, 2016 - Below are write-ups on selected players, including Georgetown student-athletes, who competed in last Saturday’s Nike DC Pro City Kenner League slate.

For expanded opinions of G’Town guys, see Premium Court.

Nate Britt – A Wash, 6’1”, 165 pound senior point guard, UNC – Started off like gang busters, driving, scoring and passing. Has a good feel for the game.

Trailed off as the game progressed. Had 13 points.

Anthony Cowan – A Wash, 6’0, 160 pound freshman point guard, Maryland - Forming the other half of A Wash’s guard duo, Cowan picked up where Britt left off, scoring seven points by driving and shooting. Also found teammates.

Strength development must be on tap for him. Cowan is also finding his way playing with bigger, stronger guys.

Darion Atkins – A Wash, 6’8”, 235 pound forward, D-League pro – Finished with 16 points around the cup, where he beasted. Is clearly a professional frontcourt player, one who recently participated in the NBA Summer League with Golden State.

Phil Hawkins – Beyond Belief, 6’0”, 195 pound point guard, international pro – Hawkins started out slow vs. A Wash’s Duo mentioned above, but then turned it on, finishing with 22 points. Used his strength to get into the lane at will, where he scored or dished. Also rebounded well.

Is trying to return to Italy this season.

Jon Arledge – Beyond Belief, 6’10”, 240 pound forward, international pro – Scored five points, but jumped out there strong, rebounding and finishing. Can also shoot midrangers.

Ran out of gas, due to a work schedule that has precluded his training. He’s now back in the gym and weight room, as evidenced by sessions at the LeMond Recreation Center.

Was in Switzerland at Boncourt last year.

Isaac Copeland - Hoop Magic, 6’9”, 215 pound junior forward, Georgetown – Scored 24 points while battling stronger players. Did so…(Premium Court)

Isaac Copeland letting one fly in Pro City Kenner League play.

Donald Robinson – Beyond Belief, 6’5”, 215 pound forward, international pro – Dropped 15 points by slashing and finishing. Hit open jumpers as well. Needs to develop change of pace drives.

Played in Hungary last year, and may return.

James Milton – Premier Athletics – 6’7”, 220 pound forward, international pro – Strong and aggressive, Milton logged 16 points around the rim. Should expand his shooting going forward.

Played in Belize last season.

Lenjo Kilo – Premier Athletics, 6’7”, 235 pound forward, Savannah State – A recent college graduate, Kilo played strong around the cup. Finished with 18 points.

Must expand his shooting range.

Daniel Dixon – Hoop Magic, 6’6”, 210 pound junior guard, William and Mary – Battled throughout. Scored 24 points.

Better stop and pop action, along with consistent on-ball defensive pressure would be helpful.

Ra’mond Hines – Hoop Magic, 6’2”, 175 pound junior guard, Georgetown – Showed he will compete against anyone…(Premium Court).

Collin Goss – Hoop Magic – 6’10”, 210 pound sophomore forward, George Washington – Scored six points, while being bounced around by stronger foes. Competed, while staying on the court the entire game.

Must continue to get stronger and work on his back to the basket footwork.

Jonathan Mulmore – DCX – 6’2”, 175 pound junior guard, Georgetown – Continued to blow by guys. Scored five points…(Premium Court).
